Shanghai, September 1st, 2024 - In September 2024, PerkinElmer and the School of Chemical Engineering at East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) jointly organized a "Young Scientist Workshop" at PerkinElmer's Shanghai office. The event aimed to provide undergraduate students from ECUST's School of Chemical Engineering with a valuable learning opportunity, stimulating their interest in scientific research and promoting in-depth cooperation between universities and enterprises through hands-on experiments, themed presentations, and career development lectures.
Led by PerkinElmer's corporate communications representative, students began their learning journey. They first learned about PerkinElmer's brand history and its development in China, as well as understanding the importance of laboratory safety. Afterwards, students changed into lab coats according to laboratory requirements, preparing to enter the laboratory for a tour.
The students visited PerkinElmer's advanced laboratory facilities, listened to professional explanations from three senior engineers on inorganic analysis, material characterization, and chromatography techniques, and had a brief hands-on experience. These sessions not only gave students an intuitive understanding of the latest technologies and applications in related fields but also enhanced their practical skills.
In the subsequent career development lecture section, PerkinElmer's human resources representative and the head of the technical support and business development team for China shared their workplace experiences and career planning advice. They encouraged students to pursue their dreams boldly and offered valuable insights on how to better plan their personal careers.
At the conclusion of the event, company representatives presented certificates to participants in recognition of their active participation and organized a group photo. The entire event received high praise from ECUST faculty and students, who stated that this activity greatly enriched their learning experience and filled them with confidence for future scientific research endeavors.
The successful hosting of this "Young Scientist Workshop" provided students with valuable practical experience and helped them better understand the workplace environment and future career planning. This not only deepened students' understanding of their professional field but also laid a solid foundation for their imminent entry into society.
